The top bar locks down onto your outboard's thumb screws. Add a lock of your choice to the included cutouts and your engine is now secure AND the device is installed to the transom.
After locking the bar to your outboard, your engine wiring leads slip directly onto our groovy terminals. Now you're ready to crank.
After years of use and abuse, we don't want you to buy another StartLok. We want you to service it with ease and be back to your adventure. Which is why we use Phillips P2 screws on our case. We support the Right to Repair. This is the GoDu way.
The breaker and internals are over the top powerful and sized up for serious use. The goal is to forget it's there and just press the start button GoDu it!

The GoDu StartLok is an industry first! It's designed to both lock your dinghy outboard and start it.

The StartLok helps prevent theft with a locking arm that secures the thumb screws on your engine. Simply add your own padlock and you've made the life of a would-be thief much harder.
The starting side of the StartLok is the real magic. Each StartLok comes ready out of the box with the battery you need to start your engine. Tested to start up to a 40HP outboard, the internal 400-amp lithium-iron starter battery is ready to crank your engine with ease.

No plastic battery box. No exposed wires. No drilling. Just a total outboard starting solution. Because the battery is mounted inside an aluminum enclosure, which is mounted to your outboard, the battery is high and dry. A set-and-forget dinghy engine starting solution.
Designed to fit all types of dinghies. Will not fit dinghies with a center support rib on transom.
Please Note:
Boats with a center transom support plate (or other central obstruction) do not allow space for the StartLok and are incompatible for use. DO NOT attempt to install the StartLok if it contacts a boat's support structure: short circuits or irreparable damage may occur.
Do not use a padlock comprised of, in any way, Brass/Bronze or any copper-based alloys if you have an aluminum boat. This can lead to corrosion and permanent damage to your vessel.

Is this an electric start kit for my outboard?
No.
You must have an electric start outboard.
This of this as an easily removable and storable starting battery.
Will this power an electric outboard?
No. This is only a starting battery for outboard engines with electric start.
What is inside?
A NOCO NLP-9 Lithium Iron Battery. A Spemco Marine 200amp Breaker. 6awg marine grade wiring.
What outboards does this fit?
The StartLok is designed to be a universal fit, but sometimes older outboards or specialized brands might not fit right out of the box.
Fortunately aluminum is easily customizable and the thumb screw ports can be enlarged with basic tools.
